What if… (dare we ask?)

These questions have been haunting me for the past few days…with the sort of resonance that tells me they are not only questions for myself, but questions that also need to be offered to others, to be picked up and turned so the light shines through them, to be gazed into like crystal balls, scrying for our utterly unique answers.

If we dared to speak what we know in our bones to be true, what would we say?

If we dared to trust our deep wisdom, where would it lead us?

What is holding us back? Whose are the remembered voices that silence us, invalidate us, scuttle our purpose?

Do they even belong to people in our life now, or are they lodged in our head, our body, our soul, our DNA?

What would it look like – what would it take – to leave them behind, stepping into our fullness?

“Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart.
Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language.
Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them…
At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it,
find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet
